Komuniteti Hebraik Shqiptar shpreh tronditjen, indinjatën dhe shqetësimin e tij më të thellë për aktin e rëndë të përdhosjes së flamurit të Shtetit të Izraelit pranë Ambasadës së Izraelit në Tiranë, si dhe për thirrjet publike të urrejtjes kundër Izraelit të artikuluara gjatë protestës së zhvilluar mbrëmjen e kaluar.
Ky nuk është thjesht një incident. Ky është një sinjal alarmi.
Përdhosja e flamurit të një shteti sovran dhe mik të Republikës së Shqipërisë nuk është një formë proteste. Është një akt urrejtjeje, një sulm ndaj normave të së drejtës ndërkombëtare, ndaj misioneve diplomatike dhe ndaj vetë kulturës së tolerancës që ka bërë Shqipërinë të nderohet në mbarë botën.
Akoma më alarmuese janë deklaratat e dëgjuara nga foltorja e protestës, ku persona të caktuar shpallën publikisht se “Izraeli është armiku ynë.” Kjo është një gjuhë e rrezikshme, përçarëse dhe nxitëse e urrejtjes, e cila synon të importojë në Shqipëri konflikte dhe narrativa ekstremiste që nuk kanë pasur kurrë vend në shoqërinë shqiptare.
Komuniteti Hebraik Shqiptar e konsideron këtë zhvillim jashtëzakonisht shqetësues, pasi për herë të parë po vërehen përpjekje të hapura për të normalizuar gjuhën antisemitike në hapësirën publike shqiptare. Historia ka treguar se antisemitizmi nuk fillon me dhunë; ai fillon me fjalë, me propagandë, me demonizim dhe me heshtjen përballë tyre. Pikërisht për këtë arsye, çdo akt i tillë duhet të dënohet menjëherë dhe pa asnjë relativizim.
Shqipëria nuk mund dhe nuk duhet të lejojë që individë të maskuar apo grupe radikale të njollosin reputacionin ndërkombëtar të vendit tonë. Ky është vendi që gjatë Holokaustit mbrojti hebrenjtë kur pjesa më e madhe e Evropës i dorëzonte drejt vdekjes. Shqipëria u bë simbol i Besës, i humanizmit dhe i guximit moral. Ky është identiteti ynë kombëtar dhe askush nuk ka të drejtë ta zëvendësojë atë me gjuhën e urrejtjes.
Ne theksojmë qartë se e drejta për të protestuar është një e drejtë themelore në një shoqëri demokratike. Por kjo e drejtë përfundon në momentin kur ajo shndërrohet në nxitje të urrejtjes, në përdhosje të simboleve shtetërore, në sulme ndaj përfaqësive diplomatike dhe në thirrje që ushqejnë antisemitizmin.
Komuniteti Hebraik Shqiptar përshëndet reagimin e menjëhershëm dhe të qartë të Ministrisë për Evropën dhe Punët e Jashtme, e cila dënoi këtë akt të papranueshëm. Njëkohësisht, u bëjmë thirrje institucioneve përgjegjëse që të hetojnë me seriozitet maksimal këtë ngjarje, të identifikojnë autorët dhe organizatorët e këtyre akteve dhe të garantojnë se Shqipëria nuk do të bëhet terren për propagandën e urrejtjes, antisemitizmit apo ekstremizmit.
I bëjmë thirrje gjithashtu të gjithë spektrit politik, medias, shoqërisë civile, komuniteteve fetare dhe çdo qytetari të përgjegjshëm që të refuzojnë pa mëdyshje çdo përpjekje për të mbjellë urrejtje ndaj hebrenjve apo ndaj Shtetit të Izraelit. Heshtja përballë gjuhës së urrejtjes nuk është neutralitet; është rrezik.
Komuniteti Hebraik Shqiptar mbetet i vendosur të mbrojë vlerat mbi të cilat është ndërtuar marrëdhënia historike mes popullit shqiptar dhe popullit hebre: respektin, dinjitetin, solidaritetin dhe mbrojtjen e jetës njerëzore.
Shqipëria nuk është dhe nuk do të jetë kurrë vend i antisemitizmit. Ata që përpiqen të importojnë urrejtjen në vendin tonë nuk përfaqësojnë Shqipërinë, nuk përfaqësojnë popullin shqiptar dhe nuk përfaqësojnë historinë tonë. Historia e Shqipërisë është histori e Besës, jo e urrejtjes.

The Albanian Jewish Community expresses its shock, indignation and deepest concern over the serious act of desecration of the flag of the State of Israel near the Israeli Embassy in Tirana, as well as the public calls for hatred against Israel articulated during the protest held last evening.
This is not just an incident. This is an alarm signal.
Desecrating the flag of a sovereign state and friend of the Republic of Albania is not a form of protest. It is an act of hatred, an attack on the norms of international law, on diplomatic missions and on the very culture of tolerance that has made Albania respected throughout the world.
Even more alarming are the statements heard from the protest podium, where certain individuals publicly declared that “Israel is our enemy.” This is dangerous, divisive and hateful language, which aims to import into Albania conflicts and extremist narratives that have never had a place in Albanian society.
The Albanian Jewish Community considers this development extremely worrying, as for the first time open attempts are being observed to normalize anti-Semitic language in the Albanian public space. History has shown that anti-Semitism does not begin with violence; it begins with words, with propaganda, with demonization and with silence in the face of them. Precisely for this reason, any such act must be condemned immediately and without any relativization.
Albania cannot and must not allow masked individuals or radical groups to tarnish the international reputation of our country. This is the country that protected the Jews during the Holocaust when most of Europe was handing them over to death. Albania became a symbol of Besa, of humanism and of moral courage. This is our national identity and no one has the right to replace it with hate speech.
We clearly emphasize that the right to protest is a fundamental right in a democratic society. But this right ends the moment it turns into incitement to hatred, desecration of state symbols, attacks on diplomatic missions and calls that fuel anti-Semitism.
The Albanian Jewish Community welcomes the immediate and clear reaction of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, which condemned this unacceptable act. At the same time, we call on the responsible institutions to investigate this event with maximum seriousness, to identify the authors and organizers of these acts and to guarantee that Albania will not become a ground for the propaganda of hatred, anti-Semitism or extremism.
We also call on the entire political spectrum, the media, civil society, religious communities and every responsible citizen to unequivocally reject any attempt to sow hatred against Jews or the State of Israel. Silence in the face of hate speech is not neutrality; it is a danger.
The Albanian Jewish Community remains committed to defending the values upon which the historical relationship between the Albanian people and the Jewish people is built: respect, dignity, solidarity and the protection of human life.
Albania is not and will never be a place of anti-Semitism. Those who try to import hatred into our country do not represent Albania, do not represent the Albanian people and do not represent our history. The history of Albania is a history of Faith, not of hatred.
